This series of paintings has been a joy to paint, a total frenzy of inspiration from colour and memories. They are an accumulation of many places visited through out the world whilst on my travels, whether with friends, family or alone. These scenes are reminiscent of the Kulu Valley in India where the wide open valleys, carpeted in wild beautiful flowers are surrounded by the majestic Himalayan mountains, but a little of the essence of human life has been inspired by the warm and rambling Tuscan hills in Italy.
Often seen from local buses traveling along rocky, windswept, long and winding roads, these visions have awoken my sense of colour and spontaneity with a raw need to indulge in the painting that becomes before my eyes.
an impressionistic style has been applied to enhance the vibrancy of these paintings and for the first time a small sign of human life has appeared, interesting as it coincided with me raising small children.
